Gladys Midgett

Gladys Marie “Duchess” Garner Midgett, 91, of North Little Rock passed away January 7, 2022.  She was born in Pine Bluff on June 11, 1930 to the late George and Gladys Garner

Gladys was a graduate of NLR High School and a member of Levy Church of Christ.  She worked for over 40 years as a bookbinder at Horton Brothers Printing, retiring at the age of 86.

Survivors include her husband of 71 years, G.L. “Buddy” Midgett; daughters:  Tina Gayle and Judy (Kelly) Kirk; siblings:  Betty Johnston and Charles (Phyllis) Garner; five grandchildren:  Clayton Latch, Chad Latch, Wade (Carrie) Latch, Leslie (Donald) Hendrix, Chase (Liz) Vervack; six great-grandchildren:  Marcus (Cydney) Latch, Alexa Latch, Ruby Latch, Hudson Hendrix, Beckham Hendrix and Harper Vervack; and a great-great-granddaughter, Lily Latch.

Gladys was preceded in death by siblings: Mary McReynolds, G.W. Garner, Virginia Thompson and Johnny Garner; and a great-grandson, Eric Latch.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home.  Funeral will begin at 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at the funeral home with burial to follow at Roselawn Memorial Park, Little Rock.
