Gladys Faye Lightfoot

Gladys Faye Taylor Lightfoot, age 88, of Beebe, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on March 4, 2025. She was born on the family dairy farm on March 2, 1937, in Opal, Arkansas to William Jessie and Ceda Phillips Taylor, the youngest of eight kids. Gladys was a 1955 graduate of Beebe High School. On March 3, 1956, she married John Lee Lightfoot and they shared 40 years of marriage until his death in 1996.

In her earlier years, she was a very active member of the Opal Extension Homemakers Club where she was active for many years. The most important thing to Gladys other than her family was her church, Beebe First Baptist Church, where she was very active in WMU and the Benevolence Committee. She spent many volunteer years at the Beebe Christian Outreach Center where she was in charge of the clothing side.

Gladys was a proud member of the Beebe Shepherd Center where she taught card making. She was well known all around for the beautiful cards she made. She was a remarkable seamstress, having made clothing for many years. Her specialty was making little girls’ pageant dresses and also made beautiful quilts, cross stitch, quilling and diamond art.

She is survived by her daughter Robin Morse and her son Tracy Lightfoot; one grandson Justin (Stephanie) Crowder; nine great grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Gladys was preceded in death by her brothers, Newt, Fred and Troy; sisters Ruby, Dollie, Alma and Marie; her grandson Joey Crowder; one great granddaughter, and one great-great granddaughter.
