Gladys May Mitchell Curtis, entered this life on December 16, 1934. She was the middle child of three daughters born to a railroad man (MO-PAC) and a staunch Baptist Wife.
She graduated high school in 1953, from then, North Little Rock High, and soon married the only man she would ever love, John Hanley Curtis. As a young woman, she was quiet, but kind to all, and when she married John Hanley Curtis, an Airman in the United States Air Force, it afforded her the opportunity to enjoy the larger world.
They traveled the country, then the world, together and produced two sons along the way, John and Carl. The travel, informed and cultivated an attribute of her character. Kindness infused with love. Most everyone noticed, it was hard not to see it.
She loved her boys, her men, and with them explored areas of Japan, Taiwan, and sundry other alien (to her) lands.
She loved to crochet, knit, and sew. In the latter half of her life, she enjoyed pottery, ceramics, art, painting and the hugs of her church, Baring Cross Baptist. She loved children and had a special way with the young. She was equally adept at helping others in times of need.
Though she was quiet, in her way she was a loving force within her family of men. She kept us centered and grounded. She was loved and she will be missed.
