Ginger Henson

Ginger Denise Jacques-Henson, 48, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, went to be with Jesus on Saturday, September 10, 2022, at National Park Medical Center in Hot Springs surrounded by her loved ones.

Born in Blytheville, Arkansas, she graduated from Lakeside High School of Hot Springs in 1992.  During her time at Lakeside, she met the love of her life, Chris Henson.  She went on to earn her Associate’s Degree from Garland County Community College, her Bachelor’s Degree from Henderson State University and marry her childhood sweetheart, Chris, in 1993.

They started their family in 1997 with the birth of their daughter, Katie Marie followed by Kristen Denise in 2000 and Kevin Riley in 2004.  Her children were the pride of her life.  Nothing brought her more joy than being with The Henson Party of Five.

She lived her life in service to others.  She dedicated her life to serving children in The Hot Springs, Bryant and Fountain Lake School Districts.  She loved to travel and create memories with her family which led her to fulfill her lifelong dream of opening Henson’s Dare to Dream Vacations.  She found joy in helping other families do the same.  She served the community through involvement in Junior Auxiliary of Hot Springs, The CALL in Garland County and Lake Valley Community Church.

Ginger was preceded in death by her grandparents, Jim and Helen Worley and Robert and Katie Jacques.

Survivors include her husband, Chris; her daughters, Katie (Mack) James and Kristen Henson and her son, Kevin Henson, all of Hot Springs; her parents, David and Christi Jacques of Hot Springs; her sister, Dana (Brad) Hansen and her brother, J.J. (Tammy) Jacques.

Additional survivors include her mother-in-law, Pat Henson and Steve Merryman and her sister-in-law, Lee Henson.

She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends that loved her dearly.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 14, 2022, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Smith Family Funeral Home of Hot Springs.
