Giles Vandegrift

Giles Vernor Vandegrift, 94, of Maumelle, Arkansas passed away Friday, December 28, 2018. He was born May 16, 1924 in Pulaski County, Arkansas to Coy and Eunice Vandegrift.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Vandegrift; his parents; sister, Dorothy Huston; brothers, William, Melvin and Albert Vandegrift; and his grandson, Kenneth Cossey.

He is survived by his daughter, Evelyn (Larry) Agee; step daughters, Peggy (George) Petrey and Betty (Jack) Thornquist; grandsons, Michael and Sean Agee; six other grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Giles was a WWII Navy Veteran where he served on the USS Idaho. He was a Master of the Masonic Blue Lodge in Sherwood, Arkansas. He was also a member of the Consistory of Little Rock, and a medic of the Shriners.
