Gilbert L. Bear, 81, of Benton went to his heavenly home on July 28, 2016. He was born April 7, 1935 in Gurdon, Arkansas to the late Dempsey and Estelle (Forthman) Bear.
Survivors are his wife Frances; son Randy; daughter Melinda Davis (Stanley); granddaughters Michelle Simpson (David) and Melissa Davis; great granddaughter Rose Simpson; three brothers: Wayne (Libby), Bobby (Judy) and Roy; two sisters: Joyce Parrish and Beverly Sanders.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his honor to the Brazil Mission Fund, c/o New Life Baptist Church, 10765 Samples Rd, Alexander, AR 72002.
Visitation with reception will be 2-4 PM Sunday, July 31, 2016 at Smith Benton Funeral Home, 322 N. Market St., Benton, Arkansas. Funeral service will be Monday at 10:00 AM at Smith Benton Funeral Home with burial following at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens. Marvin Caldwell, Joe Cantley, Carroll Griffin, Mark Griffin, Ronnie Forsyth, and Ronnie Hutchinson will serve as pallbearers and the Senior Men's Class at New Life Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers.
