Gerda R. Snyder, 83, of Bryant, Arkansas passed away December 16, 2015. She was born September 18, 1932 in East Prussia to the late Rudolph and Hertha Voight.
Gerda escaped Germany in a haycart and defected to France where she met her husband, Floyd Dale Snyder, who was serving in the U.S. Army. She moved to the United States and became an American citizen.
Gerda was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Dale Snyder; and two daughters, Mary Jean Snyder and Barbara Romolo.
She leaves to cherish her memories a grandson, Joe Snyder, granddaughter, Angela Swackhammer and husband Ed; and great-granddaughter, Shala Padilla.
Graveside burial will be at 1:00 P.M., Friday, December 18, 2015, at Fort Smith National Cemetery.
