Geraldine Amis Thomas age 82 of Arkadelphia, died Tuesday April 10, 2007 at the Twin Rivers nursing home.
She was born June 4, 1924 in Dallas County, the daughter of the late Lawrence and Eva Elizabeth Blakney Amis. She was a retired switchboard operator for Southwestern Bell, a member of the Second Baptist Church of Arkadelphia and attended Manchester United Methodist Church, the Hartsville home extension club, and the Senior Citizens Center of Arkadelphia. She was preceeded in death by her husband of fifty years, Leroy "Dick" Thomas, and one daughter Dodie Thomas.
Survivors include one daughter, Marsha Haltom and her husband Johnny of Manchester, AR, two grand-daughters Bethany Stockton and her husband Dustin, Jordan Phillips and her husband Clay all of Arkadelphia, one step-sister Bonnie Harris of Russellville, AR. Special caregivers were Alice Chapman, Barbara Scott, Linda Davis, Annette & Margaret Keeling.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 12, 2007 in the Ruggles-Wilcox Chapel, with Rev. Carl Kluck and Rev Bob Sanders officiating.
Interment will be in the Rest Haven Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 6- 8 p.m. Wed. April 11, 2007 at the funeral home.
