Geraldine Marie Rambo, 89, of North Little Rock, Arkansas passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 12, 2023.
She was born on November 13, 1933 to Carl James Luyet and Lydia Ann Besancon Luyet in Little Rock. She was the oldest of 5 siblings. She graduated Valedictorian of Scott High School in 1951 and graduated from nursing school at St. Vincent's infirmary to become an R.N. She took great pride in taking care of the community.
She had been a member of the Arkansas Nursing Association, Arkansas Public Health Association, Arkansas State Employees Association, and charter member and past president of the Public Health Nurses Association of Arkansas. She was also a charter member of Arkansas Ophthalmic Removal Nurses Association. She was a member of the St. Patrick's Parish Choir and van driver, served on parish church committees, and was also a member of the St. Patrick's members Ladies Guild. She received the Dr. Fitchugh Public Health Nurse of the Year.
She was loved by her family and extended family, high school friends, and nursing friends, her church and church family. She will be dearly missed.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Malcolm Creston Rambo, her parents, brothers, Jerry Lee Luyet, James Syndey Luyet, and Herbert Franklin Luyet; and nephew Joey Savoy.
Geraldine is survived by her 2 daughters, Jean Marie Rambo and Julie Ann Snyder Rambo; grandchildren David Howell and Jacquelyn Rose Dumas; great grandchildren Davidson Howell, Lawson Howell, Kinsley Rose Dumas, Blake Austin Dumas; and 1 sister Sylvia Ann Luyet Savoy. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews in which she loved very much.
A viewing will be held for Geraldine on Saturday, October 14, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM with a Rosary to follow in the Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home chapel at 2:00 PM. A mass will be held on Monday, October 16, 2023 at St. Patricks Catholic Church at 1:00 PM with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery. There will be a potluck to follow burial at St. Patrick's Parish Center.
