Geraldine Hunt Lockeby, age 78, of Amity, died Wednesday, August 21, 2013. She was born on May 23, 1935, at Newhope, the daughter of William Henry Cogburn and Pearl Eller Kelling Cogburn. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Delmore W. Hunt; her second husband, Dame Lockeby; four brothers, Vanice Cogburn, Woodie Cogburn, Millard "Sug" Cogburn and Odell Cogburn; and one sister, Mae Cogburn Tigue. She was a faithful member of the Philippi Church of Christ and worked at the Glove Factory for thirty-five years. She enjoyed working with her flowers and gardening. She was a loving mother, who dearly loved her son and her many wonderful nieces and nephews. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her son, Tilman Hunt of Hot Springs; one brother and sister-in-law, Elbert and Dela Sue Cogburn of Salem; two sisters-in-law, Marlene Cogburn of Lodi and Larue Hall of Point Cedar; a close family friend, Tabitha McPherson; several nieces and nephews; and a host of wonderful friends. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, August 25, 2013, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Glenwood with Rodney Burton officiating. Visitation will be held Saturday evening, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Interment will be in the Philippi Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Pallbearers will be Rodney Cogburn, Billy Cogburn, Jerry Ray Cogburn, Jayson Pounds, Brian Pounds, Tony Tart and Hunt Tart. Honorary pallbearers will be Mr. and Mrs. Emual Hunt and Mr. and Mrs. Loyd Hall.
