Geraldine Fowler, 89, of Beebe, Arkansas, passed away Thursday evening, October 14, 2010, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
A lifelong resident of Arkansas, she grew up in McRae and was a graduate of McRae High School, 1939. In the early forties, Geraldine moved to Beebe and opened Geraldine's Beauty Shop. She was a homemaker extraordinaire, and a member of the First Methodist Church. Beebe was her home for most of her adult life.
Geraldine was preceded in death by her husband, Claud Fowler and her son, Claude Thurman Fowler; her parents, James Coleman "Jim" Thurman and Claudia Dell; sisters, Margaret, Erma Lee and Elizabeth; brothers, Bob, Hilton, "Red" and Hugh; and three nieces and nephews.
She is survived by her grandsons, Stephen Fowler and Jon Fowler and four great-grandchildren; her brothers, Herman "Hibe" of Benton, Arkansas and Charles of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; and her sister, Betty Ford of New Bransfel, Texas and eight nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday at Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe. Funeral will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 18, 2010, at Westbrook Funeral Home, with burial in Beebe Cemetery. Beverly Hogan will speak of the remembrances of Geraldine's life.
