Gerald M. Vaughan, Sr., 80, of Sherwood passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2016. He was born March 21, 1936 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Clarence and Margarite Simpson Vaughan. He was a member of North Little Rock First Assembly of God Church. Gerald was a founding member of Arkansas Association of Kidney Patients which sponsors The Harrison House. Gerald was a respected businessman. He coached American Legion Baseball for many years, and also loved the Arkansas Razorbacks, Dallas Cowboys and the St. Louis Cardinals.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary Beth White Vaughan; children, Gerald M. "Mike" Vaughan, Jr. (Rosa), Marilyn Vaughan, James Alan Vaughan (Peggy) and Christopher Brent Vaughan; grandchildren, Caleb Vaughan, Leah Ford, Kristen Dodderer and Jared Vaughan; great-grandchildren, Bryce Vaughan and Sofia Besanson; siblings, Robert Vaughan, C.R. Vaughan Jr., and Donas York; godson, Charley Vaughan and other extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents and six siblings.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Monday, January 2nd at Smith - North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main Street. Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at North Little Rock First Assembly of God, 4501 Burrow Road. A committal service will be 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at Pinecrest Memorial Park, 10201 Highway 5 North, Alexander. Online obituary at www.SmithFamilyCares.com .
