Gerald Hale

Gerald L. Hale, 82, of North Little Rock went to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 5, 2010. He was born on Petit Jean Mountain on June 4, 1928 to the late John and Gladys Hale. Gerald enlisted in the Navy at the age of 16 and served his country for 23 years in World War II, Korea and Vietnam, achieving the rank of Chief Petty Officer. After his retirement from the military, Gerald was employed at the Jacksonville Air Base. He was a member of the Somers Avenue Church of Christ and through the years preached at several churches in the area.
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Don Hale, twin sister, Geraldine Privett and his wife, Barbara Hale and his granddaughter, Jessica Ann Nichols. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Verna Hale; his children, Scott Hale (Becky) and Andrea Nichols, and his granddaughters Lindsay Hale, Devon Hale and Jennifer Nichols. Also surviving Gerald are his brothers Bill Hale (Carolyn) and Ronnie Hale.

Funeral services will be held 11:30 a.m., Monday in the North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home, 1921 Main St., 758-1170. Online obituary and guest registry at www.nlrfh.com.
