George Whaley

George L. Whaley, 83, of Sherwood passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2007. He worked for The Missouri-Pacific Railroad for 13 years, owned and operated Whaley T. V. Sales and Service in Sherwood, a member of Sylvan Hills Community Church for 56 years and a veteran of World War II. He was a crewmember of a B-26 Bomber in the Normandy Invasion.
He is survived by his wife, Juanita A. (Townsend) Whaley, of Sherwood; son, Michael L. Whaley, of Hot Springs; daughter, Sandra C. Kersey and husband, John, of Cabot; five grandchildren, John M. Kersey, Janet Dreher, Matthew Whaley, Andrew Whaley and Scott Craig and nine great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Sylvan Hills Community Church, 8019 Sylvan Hills Hwy, Sherwood, Arkansas 72120.
Funeral services will be held, 2:00 P.M., Saturday at Sylvan Hills Community Church. Burial will be in Rest Hills Memorial Park. Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Friday at North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main St., 758-1170. Online obituary and guest register at www.northlittlerockfuneralhome.com.
