George Truman Nooner, age 78, of Bonnerdale, went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 11, 2011. He was born on January 3, 1933 in the Mount Tabor community of Garland County, the son of Joe Nooner and Ovie Noles Nooner. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Odell Nooner; and two sisters, Vela Fox and Eudora McCormick. George was a Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict and served six years on board a Navy LSD and Navy destroyer. He was a member of the Bonnerdale Seventh Day Adventist Church. Survivors include his wife, Virginia Nooner of Bonnerdale; four daughters, Barbara Lee Britzinger of California, Karen White of San Antonio, Texas, Patty Alexander of Vilonia and Pam Thompson of Greenbrier; two sons, Billy Arnett of Vilonia and Howard Arnett, Jr. of Conway; two brothers, Dennis Nooner of Bonnerdale and Murrell Nooner of Hot Springs; one sister, Wanda Faye Hizney of Bryant; seventeen grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, March 14, 2011 in the Bonnerdale Seventh Day Adventist Church with Pastor Ryan Long officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Interment will be in the Bonnerdale Seventh Day Adventist Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Pallbearers will be Mike Nooner, Gary Wayne McCormick, Robbie Burr, Bill Lambert, Dean Fisher and Jim Alexander. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
