George Queen
George Queen, 84 of Sherwood, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 4, 2010 at St. Vincent Medical Center in Sherwood. He was born on August 13, 1925 in Da Quoin, Illinois; he was the son of Charles Queen and Pearl Gurbes Queen.
George was a retired Veteran of the United States Army and Air Force, during his time in the Air Force, he served as a military police officer, and was a former guard of the Geneva Convention in 1949.
He was preceded in death by his wife Doris Ann, and his parents.
Survivors include his children Michael Queen of Florida; Dennis and wife Sally Queen of Sherwood; Joseph Queen of Sherwood; and Katherine Barylske and husband Tom of Illinois; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 9, 2010 at Huson Funeral Home Chapel in Sherwood, with George's son Dennis Queen officiating, interment with military honors will follow at Arkansas State Veterans' Cemetery in North Little Rock.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Thursday, April 8, 2010 at Huson Funeral Home in Sherwood.
