George W. Hoops

George W. Hoops (Pop), born January 26, 1950 to the late Herbert and Elizabeth Hoops of Snyder, Arkansas passed away April 24, 2023.

George graduated from NLR High School in 1968, then joined the Air National Guard at LRAFB working on the flight line as a jet engine mechanic with the 189^th Cameron Squadron, to an inflight air refueling technician (boom operator) with the 154^th Air Refueling Squadron on the KC-135 and became section chief in the C-130 loadmaster section. He retired after 27 years and started his own small excavation business, expanding into a full-service excavation business along with his son.

George loved being with his friends and family at the annual Super Bowl parties at his shop. He loved deer hunting and the Greers Ferry Lake gatherings at the Tumbling Shoals cabin with his family and friends. Head grill master for the family and friends was one of his favorite things! He loved spending that time with his grandsons and watching them grow up into fine young men.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sharon Creasy Hoops; son, Heath Hoops (Natasha); and his three precious grandsons, Hayden Hoops, Jackson Daniel and Hudson Hoops.

Visitation will be 10:00 AM, Friday, April 28, 2023 at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home, funeral will begin at 10:30 AM with Father Ruben Quinteros officiating. Interment with military honors will be at Immaculate Heart of Mary Cemetery. 7025 Jasna Gora Lane, North Little Rock.
