George Adell "Lum" Hill, age 89, of Searcy, Arkansas was born January 9, 1925 at Quitman, Arkansas to William Homer and Thelma Swaffar Hill and went to be with The Lord Monday, December 15, 2014.
Lum served in the Navy in World War II. He also served 13 months during the Korean War with the American Red Cross of which he was employed for 33 years as the Director of the American Red Cross Centex Chapter.
He is President Emeritus of Lions International Club, Austin, Texas and an Ordained Deacon at Windsor Park Baptist Church in Austin, Texas.
He is survived by his wife and loving caregiver of sixty-four years, Marjorie "Sissy" Bell Hill of Searcy, Arkansas; a son, George A. Hill II; daughters Johna Hill Edwards (Mark), Michele Hill Richter (Deven), Callie Hill Pigg (John); sister, Lureta Hill Yingling; brother, Eugene Hill (Kathy); eleven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Udell Hill and Norman Phillips.
Family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 17, 2014, from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Hickory Plains Missionary Baptist Church, with Funeral Service to follow at 2 p.m. at the church. Interment will be at Hickory Plains Cemetery.
