George L. Davenport, Jr., 80, of Cabot, Arkansas, died Tuesday, May 7, 2013. He was a 1950 graduate of North Little Rock High School and served in the United States Marine Corps. He owned and operated Independent Manufacturing prior to his retirement.
George was preceded in death by his parents, George L. Sr. and Willa Davenport. He is survived by his wife Jean of fifty years; daughter Donna (Milton) Williams of Cabot; son George (Bub) Davenport, III of Medina, Ohio; three grandchildren, John Williams, Jesse Williams, and Kaci Williams; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Margaret Mahoney and Norma Harl, both of Austin; one sister-in-law Martha Shock of Cabot; numerous nieces and nephews; and best friend Phillip Montague.

Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 9, 2013, at Old Austin Cemetery. Arrangements by Westbrook, a Smith Family Funeral Home.
