George R. Dahlke, 86, of North Little Rock, Arkansas passed away August 14, 2024. 

George was a 1955 Mountain Home High School graduate, an honor roll student, and a member of the school’s Bomber Team. A member of the FFA & 4H Club; where he participated in the youth Livestock Exhibits at the Arkansas Livestock Commission in Little Rock and the Baxter County Fairs. George went to Arkansas PolyTech College from 1956 – 1957 and worked part-time as a Combine Laborer.

George married his high school sweetheart Esta Mae Norman on September 8, 1959, while pursuing an education at the University of Arkansas. Two years later, George enlisted in the United States Army in 1961 at Fort Sam in Houston, Texas, and was stationed in 1963 at Fort Detrick in Frederick, Maryland. He was a 2nd Lieutenant in the chemical corps and was certified in chemical management, logistics, and personnel management.

After his Army service, George spent multiple years employed by the US Department of Agriculture in the soil survey and mapping division, receiving multiple awards in soil conservation service. George’s dedication to his trade led him to the position of financial manager in the Little Rock office until his retirement.

George was always a Razorback fan and made monetary donations to the Educational Athletic Scholarship Program. George was also a member of Levy Baptist Church in North Little Rock. His love for friends, co-workers, and family he accumulated over the years remained a source of comfort and beloved memories for him.

A visitation service will be held on August 21, 2024, from 9:30 AM – 10:30 AM at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home (1921 Main Street). A graveside service will follow at 11:00 AM at Rest Hills Memorial Park.

He will be greatly missed.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Levy Baptist Church, 3501 Pike Ave North Little Rock, Arkansas 72218.
