George L. Cline, Sr., 85, of Russellville (formerly of North Little Rock), passed away December 6, 2012. He was born on August 30, 1927 in Prattsville, Arkansas; he was the son of Merle Cline and Berta Laster.
George spent most of his working life as a salesman for Strauss Distributors. After retiring from Strauss, he was the owner of Palarm Creek Liquor near Maumelle. He was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church, and the Rogers-Rye VFW, and enjoyed reading, hunting and fishing. George was also a World War II veteran having served overseas. He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy.
Survivors include his children Sallie(Cliff) Langford of Fayetteville; Tracey(Mike) Pew of Dardanelle; and George L. "Chip" (Susan) Cline of Ruston, Louisiana. He is also survived by his grandchildren Cortney Manix, Ben Langford, Lee and Andy Cline, and one great granddaughter, Emma Langford.
Funeral services will be held at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in North Little Rock on Monday, December 10, 2012 at 3:00 p.m.
In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or the Salvation Army.
