Geneva Louise Smith, 76, of McRae, Arkansas, was born November 17, 1932, at Yukon, Oklahoma, to Earl and Grace (Goodman) Compton, and she died October 31, 2009. She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who loved quilting. She took care of children, and loved and mentored them as her own, leading many of them to the Lord.
Geneva is survived by her husband of fifty-seven years, Albert J. Smith; her children, Michael W. Smith and wife Sue of McRae, E. David Smith and wife Karen of Ringgold, Georgia, and Barry K. Smith and wife Laurie of Hamilton, New Zealand; eleven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two sisters, Tresa Smith and husband J. C. of McRae and Nola McDougal and husband John of Cabot; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe. Funeral will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 5, 2009, at McRae First Baptist Church, with burial in Lebanon Cemetery.
