Gene Herrington

Gene Herrington, 91, of North Little Rock passed away Tuesday, December 13, 2011. He served in the United States Army during World War II. He was a member of Park Hill Baptist Church and held religious services for 40 years at the Pulaski County jail. He was an editor at Arkansas Democrat and a communications officer at Entergy.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Barbara Herrington, of North Little Rock; daughter, Janet Lee Brown and husband, Bobby, of Perryville; son, David E. Herrington and wife, Vicki, of Fairfax, Virginia; daughter, Kathy Gates, of North Little Rock; grandchildren, Lisa Prescott and Heidi Helwig, Holly Patrick, Heidi Herrington, Kris, Matt and David Gates; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Gordon Herrington.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lottie Moon Christmas Offering at any Southern Baptist Church.
A visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., Saturday in the Fellowship Hall at Park Hill Baptist Church, followed by a memorial service at 10:30 a.m. Arrangements by North Little Rock Funeral Home. Online obituary and guest registry at www.nlrfh.com.
