Gene A. Gerhard, age 75, of Heavener, Oklahoma, passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2014 in Arkadelphia. He was born May 13, 1938 in Tulsa, Oklahoma the son of the late Clyde and Ida Luster Gerhard. He was a member of First Christian Church Disciples of Christ in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. Gene was an retired Machinist with American Airlines. 
Survivors are his wife of fifty-seven years, Joan Wilson Gerhard, one daughter, Terri Curry and husband, Ron of Pt. Cedar, Arkansas, one sister, Lucille Tilley of Tulsa, Oklahoma, four grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  
Services will be at 2:00 PM Friday, May 2nd at First Christian Church Disciples of Christ in Ft. Smith, Arkansas.Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
