Gene Embry

Gene Embry, age 75, of Hot Springs, passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2023.

He was born on August 31, 1947, in Mena, the son of Orice Ray Embry and Florence Robson.  He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Deborah Diggs Embry.

Gene worked as a wet stone cutter.  He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman.   He also enjoyed gardening.  He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.

He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Johnny and Tina Embry and Matt and Magen Embry; one daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Roger Carter; grandchildren, Justin (Chantall) Carter, Jena (Jeremiah) Blair, Chase Arrington, Cole Arrington, Peyton Carter, Ethan Embry, Jacob Hammonds, Briley Stanley and Jordyn Embry; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Thursday, January 12, 2023, with Bro Raymond Ison officiating in the Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel, Hot Springs.

Interment will be in the Lowe Cemetery.

Visitation will be held 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM, prior to the service.

Pallbearers are Richard Helms, Matthew Crawford, Andrew Barber, Cody Malone, Johnny Embry and Matt Embry.

Honorary pallbearers are James Ham, Steve Diggs, Dean Wiles, Paul Diggs, Larry Diggs, Mike Malone, Tommy Brown and Lynn Newton.
