Gene Bridges

Gene Bridges, age 84, of Mount Ida, passed away on Saturday, June 11, 2016. He was born on May 21, 1932 in Hastings, Oklahoma, the son of Floyd Bridges and Vera Vickers Bridges. On May 6, 1950, he was married to Joyce Frost Bridges who preceded him in death on December 31, 2014. He was also preceded in death by two sons, Terry Bridges and Mike Bridges. Gene was an entrepreneur, owning and operating his own businesses. From 1969 until 1981, he operated Bridges Machine Shop in Oklahoma and from 1981 until 1998, Ozark Cedar. He was a member of the Mount Ida First Baptist Church. He is survived by his son, Bruce Bridges of Mount Ida; his sister, Mildred Taylor of Palestine, Texas; four grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at 4:00 PM, Thursday, June 16, 2016, in the Christian Mission Ministries in Pencil Bluff.
