Gay Upton Brown, 57, of Little Rock, passed away October 3, 2009. Born February 16, 1952 in Hot Springs to Guy and Willine Upton, she was Director of Sales for Towne Place Suites by Marriott. She worked for over 28 years in the Convention and Hospitality Sales Industry with Little Rock Convention & Visitors Bureau and Arlington Hotel of Hot Springs.
Gay had a fantastic sense of humor, loved everyone (never met a stranger) and served her many friends and family members in any way possible. She was loved by everyone who met her.
She is survived by her loving husband, Terry T. Brown; daughter, MacKenzie Brown whom she adored; mother, Willine Upton; sister, Phyllis Hancock; niece, Melissa Russell; great-niece, Ally Briggeman; mother-in-law, Mrs. Richard Brown, all of Little Rock; cousin, Susie Wilson of Hot Springs and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father.
Services will be held Thursday, October 8 at 4:00 p.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.), Little Rock, officiated by Rev. Roy Edwards. The family will greet friends Wednesday evening from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, a college fund has been established for her daughter, MacKenzie Brown at any Regions Bank location.
