Gary Lewis Smith, 54, of Russellville, Arkansas went to be with his Lord and Savior March 27, 2018. He was born June 28, 1963 in Hot Springs, Arkansas to the late Columbus and Lucille (Brim) Smith.
Gary was a Baptist minister and shared the gospel at Eureka Baptist Church and Union Baptist Church. He worked at Weyerhaeuser Company for twenty years and was presently working at Tyson Foods. Gary's passions were God, Family, Dallas Cowboys, Arkansas Razorbacks, and wrestling. He also enjoyed listening to music of all genres.
Preceding Gary in death are his parents; brother, Columbus Smith, Jr., and sister, Vera L. Smith.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of nineteen years, Shonna Babb-Smith of Russellville; two sons: Addison Smith of Russellville and Kyle S. Smith and fiancé Christina of Hot Springs, Arkansas; two daughters: Jessica Chitou and husband Hamed of Hot Springs, Arkansas and Tierra Holcomb of Baltimore, Maryland; four grandchildren: Aerial Poole, Kole Daniels, Marlo Daniels, and Ralls Daniels; two brothers: Michael L. Smith and wife Doris of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Kevin Smith and wife Tryla of Fort Smith, Arkansas; sister, Sharon Smith Jordan and husband P.J. of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; and a host of family and friends who love Gary and will miss him always.
Pallbearers are Gary's nephews.
Honorary pallbearers are Tyson Employees, CARTI doctors and staff, Justin Jordan, Zack Jordan, Michael Smith, Jr., Marcus Smith, Montrell Smith, and Kevin D. Smith.
Reception visitation will be held from Noon-2:00 PM, Saturday, March 31, at Smith-Benton Funeral Home, 322 N. Market St., Benton, Arkansas. Funeral service, officiated by Dr. Steven Lake, will follow at 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
