Gary Roberts

Gary Roberts, age 58, of Norman, passed away at his home on Saturday, May 18, 2019. On February 27, 1984, he was married to Tonya Wright. While as a little boy in Cincinnati, Gary was in the hospital when Danny Thomas came by giving out toys. He remembered being more interested in getting the toy than seeing Danny Thomas. His adult years would see him giving every year to St. Jude Childrens Hospital where he could help another little boy or girl. He enjoyed all rodeo sports, especially team roping and watching Professional Bull Riding. Gary loved being with his two grandchildren. He was known as a simple man with a big heart. He is survived by his wife, Tonya Roberts; two children, Krystal Roberts and Cody Roberts; his grandchildren, Korben and Colt; a very special aunt, Louise Ponder, all of Norman; and many, many friends. He was preceded in death by his special uncle, Ray Ponder, who was instrumental in teaching him the values that stayed with him his entire life. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, May 20, 2019, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood with Bro. Brian Holder officiating. Honorary pallbearers are all the friends he had made that were truly like family to him.
