Gary Gaines

Gary Michael Gaines, 63, of North Little Rock, Arkansas passed away Sunday, August 6, 2017. He was born September 4, 1953 in Pulaski County to the late Patrick and Jane Gaines.
He is survived by his wife of thirty-five years, Glenda Gaines; daughters, Leslie Tullos (Nicole Martin) and Sarah Griffin (Ryan); son, Gary Michael Gaines II; brother, Cary Gaines; five grandchildren, Lindsey Loosey, Ryan, Peyton, and Presley Griffin, and Chloe Staggs, and great-granddaughter, Andrea Gilbert.
Gary was a very honest, hardworking, and loving man. He loved his mother and family more than anything in the world. He always made sure they were taken care of first before anything else. He was a jack-of-all-trades besides his career at Safeway, where he worked alongside his father and many friends. He also worked for the city of North Little Rock and always took pride in all his work no matter how big or small the job was. He would drive us around at night and show us what new signs or RPMs he put up to make sure we, along with everyone driving, was safe.
Along with his love of family, he had a great love for the outdoors. He spent many hours at his deer camp in Beebe hunting and warming by his campfire. It didn't stop there. He also enjoyed a love of fishing and building anything and everything with his bare hands. He was a true craftsman at heart.
Visitation will be 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, August 10, 2017 at Smith-North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main Street. Graveside service will be at 2:00 P. M. Friday, August 11, 2017 at Brents Cemetery, Cleveland, AR.
