Gary Leon English, 66, of Little Rock, passed away September 26, 2016. He was born in Nashville, Arkansas to Jessie and Bettie Mims English. He was a veteran of Vietnam while serving in the U.S. Marine Corps where he received the Purple Heart for being wounded. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education and History followed by a Master's Degree in secondary Education from Ouachita Baptist University. Gary is retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a mail carrier. He was a beloved coach, teacher, and musician.
Preceded in death by his parents, brother, William English and sister, Peggy Sue English. He is survived by his wife, Hsiu-Yu (Tina) English; son, Jonathan English (Olivia) of Tulsa, Oklahoma; daughters, Rebekah English-Wall (Jeremy) of Bentonville and Alexandria Barclay (Christopher) of Olympia, Washington; brother, Thomas English; and grandchildren, Samantha Davis, Xavier Penland, Warren English, Juliett English and Stone Barclay.
Graveside services with Military Honors will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 29 at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, 2200 Ft. Roots Dr., Bldg. #65, No. Little Rock, AR 72114.
