Gary Edwin Covington

Gary Edwin Covington, age 67, of Mena, passed away on Sunday, December 22, 2019. He was born on January 24, 1952 in Hot Springs, the son of John Edwin Covington and Daisy Mae Warren Covington. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Billy Covington. Gary was a retired electrician and Southern Baptist in his faith. He was a Mason and member of the Glenwood Masonic Lodge #662. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, especially dirt bikes, and being outdoors. He always loved being with his grandchildren. He is survived by his twin sons, Gary Wayne Covington of Story and James Edwin Covington of Sims; his daughter, Amie Collum of DeQueen; four grandchildren, Joshua Collum, Whitley Caskey, Sidnie Collum and Aubry Collum; his great-grandson, Jay Lyndle Caskey; five sisters, Ruth Moore and Jackie James, both of Alaska, Jonnie Mae Lyons of Oden, Rhonda Thornton of Mount Ida and Nita Morris of Black Springs; and his nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be announced at a later date. Cremation arrangements were under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home and Crematory, Glenwood. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
