Gary Bourgeois

Gary Gene Bourgeois was a loving husband, father, brother and son. He was dear and cherished by all of his family and friends.

Gary was born February 8, 1961, in Wareham, Massachusetts. He grew up in Georgia and graduated from Peachtree High School. He participated in many activities including swimming, tennis, golf, just to name a few.

Gary enlisted in the United States Navy so he could, "have a free ride to sail around the world, twice." He was honorably discharged in 1986. He then moved back to Georgia where he eventually met the love of his life. Melissa and Gary were married for 22 years. In 2013 they moved to El Paso, Arkansas and embraced farm life whole heartedly.

Gary was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1998 and this debilitating disease slowly took a toll on his life. He finally was laid to rest and peace the morning of July 15, 2018.

Gary loved the beach, fireworks, grilling bbq ribs and jamming out to loud music!

Gary was preceded by his son, Blake Bourgeois, and survived by his wife Melissa Bourgeois, daughter Lauren Bourgeois Ross (Dave), parents Gene & Carlie Bourgeois, sister Debbie Behr, uncle Father Roger Bourgeois, SSS and many other family, friends, and loved ones.

He was very loved and will be missed by all.

A memorial service will be held at Ward United Methodist Church on Saturday July 21st at 2pm with a visitation preceding at 1pm.

Cremation arrangements are by Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home.
