Garrett "Doc" Hughes, 82, of Curtis died at his home Thursday, November 15, 2007. He was born April 22, 1925 in Clark County, Arkansas to the late Claude Christopher and Carrie Hudman Hughes. "Doc" was retired as a carpenter for Reynolds Metals, and was affiliated with Jehovah's Winess Church.
He was survived by his wife Sylvia Faye Beaty Hughes; two sons, Thomas Hughes and Robert Hughes both of Prescott; three daughters, Linda Ray of Midway, Betty Ogden of Arkadelphia, and Gloria Rogers of Little Rock; a brother, Ray Hughes of Sheridan; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 6-8:00 p.m. Friday, November 16th at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home, Arkadelphia.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 17th at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Chapel, with Virgil Martin officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens.
