Garland Womack

Garland W. Womack, 88, of Cabot, Arkansas, was born October 28, 1919, at Des Arc, Arkansas, to Harve H. and Grace Ridout Womack, and he died Tuesday, August 5, 2008.

He served during World War II in the Army Air Corps, where he was awarded the Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal, and European Theater of Operations Ribbon with four Bronze battle Stars. Garland was a member of Cabot United Methodist Church where he sang in the choir for over sixty years, and he owned and operated Womack's Variety Store in Cabot for several years.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Harve Eldon Womack and one daughter, Sharon Robb. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Campbell Womack; one daughter, Lori Ann Womack-Tippit and husband Mark; one son, Barry Garland Womack and wife Tracy; ten grandchildren, Lucas Garland Womack, Michael, Austin, Haven and Bryn Allen, Nikki, Michelle and Robbie Robb, Butch and Phillip Larch; and several great-grandchildren.

Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe. Funeral will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, August 8, 2008, at Cabot United Methodist Church, with burial in Mt. Carmel Cemetery. www.westbrookfuneralhome.com
