Gaines Waybern "Wayne" Post, 65, of Little Rock, left this earth on April 26, 2007. He was born in Jerome, Arkansas to Ralph and Cleo Post. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Monita White; son, Danny Wilkes; granddaughter, Schuyler Post; two nieces, Dana Feagins and Donna Parker; and a great-nephew, Cole Parker.
Wayne is survived by Sharon, his loving wife of 33 years, and five sons: Chris Post (Terri) of Florida, Steven Post (Debbie) of Georgia, Timothy Post and Mark Post (Mindi), both of Little Rock and Ronnie Wilkes of Ohio. He is also survived by a great family friend, Barbara Post; his brother, Leon Post, and his sisters, Rhoda Feagins (Orley) and Bettye Hosto, both of Little Rock. He has twelve loving grandchildren, including Kasey Post and Dylan Braswell of Little Rock, four great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Wayne enjoyed fishing, visiting Florida, spending time with his family, gardening and watching the birds. The family will be accepting visitors at the home of Mark and Melinda Post at 13620 Crystal Valley Road in Little Rock.
Visitation will be Sunday, April 29, from 6-8 p.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.), Little Rock. A graveside service with military honors will be held Monday, April 30 at 9:00 a.m., at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock, officiated by Rev. Tim King.
