Freda Louise West

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Freda Galloway West on July 30, 2024, at the age of 80. 

Freda was born on October 14, 1943, in Glenwood, Arkansas, to Bobby and Ruby Galloway. As a young woman, Freda met the love of her life and beloved husband, RD West, and they were married for 61 years. A loving wife, mother, and homemaker, Freda enjoyed cooking and serving others. She was known for opening her home to friends and family. She especially loved getting together for holidays and special occasions, creating countless memories from “Nana’s biscuits” to wonderful holiday meals. Freda left behind a legacy of Christian values, love for family, and the warmth of her hospitality.
 
Freda was preceded in death by her parents, Bobby and Ruby Galloway, and her brother Greg Galloway. 

She is survived by her husband, RD West, her son and daughter in law Lynn and Laurey West, her daughter and son in law Jeff and Leigh Ann Light, her brother and sister in law Ron and Jan Galloway, her sister and brother-in-law Bill and Donna West, her grandchildren Devon Arcisz and husband Joey, Dakota West and wife Ashtin, Landon Light, and Jaden Light, and three great-grandchildren, Indie and Ivie Arcisz and Alessi West. Four nieces Tiffany McCallister, Tenille Rauls, Lindsey Jones, Josie Galloway, and five nephews, Rob Galloway, David Galloway, Heath Galloway, Gage Galloway, and Sawyer Galloway.

Pallbearers are Jeff Light, Landon Light, Dakota West, Joey Arcisz, Scott McCallister, Tyler McCallister, Russ Rauls, and Will Rauls. Freda will be deeply missed by all who know her. Her love, kindness, and unwavering faith have left an indelible mark on the hearts of her family and friends.

A visitation will take place at Smith Family Funeral Home in Glenwood on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at 12:00 PM.
The Graveside service will follow on the same day, August 3, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Mount Tabor Cemetery.
