Fred Fisk, age 83, of Sheridan, passed away on Wednesday, September 7, 2022.
He was born on April 25, 1939, in Lockesburg, the son of Ralph David Fisk and Retha Matilda Cross Fisk. On July 24, 1963, he was married to the true love of his life, Doris Marie Young Fisk, who preceded him in death on August 2, 2021. He was also preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Ralph Fisk, Wade Fisk, Shorty Fisk and Bud Fisk; and two sisters, Betty Porter and Lucille Ligon.
For all of Fred's working career he was a long-distance truck driver, which he always said his work meant way more to him than just a job, so much so that he was actually still trucking up to 73 years old. Fred enjoyed traveling to Alaska, where he loved going fishing and told his girls, quite frequently, that he sure wished he could go back for just one more visit and one more fishing trip. Above all, Fred’s greatest joy in life was spending time with his family, whom he loved and cherished and he will be remembered by many for always having a special story to tell, especially to the grandkids. Fred will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his five daughters and three sons-in-law, Regina Stuard and Chris and Barry Stuard, all of Dierks, Norma and Randy Tucker of Newhope, Kathy Fisk of Hot Springs and Jennifer and Roland Knighten of Sheridan; eleven grandchildren and their spouses, Cody and Jess Sherrin, Brian Cook, Kelsey and Justin Westfall, Tatum Stuard, Landan Stuard, Ashley and Daniel Smith, Lance Jackson, Dylan Tucker, Abigail Fisk, Danielle and Will Donham and DJ Jenkins; seven great-grandchildren, Logann Sherrin, Kason Sherrin, Fisher Westfall, Fletcher Westfall, Finnick Westfall, Ethan Jackson, Dawson Smith, Amelia Smith and another little boy on the way; one sister, Maude Burris of Gilham; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, September 12, 2022, in the Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood with Bro. James Fisk officiating.
Visitation will be held Monday, 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM, prior to the services at the funeral home.
Interment will be in the McHorse Cemetery, Provo, near Lockesburg.
Pallbearers will be Cody Sherrin, Tatum Stuard, Justin Westfall, Lance Jackson, Dylan Tucker, DJ Jenkins and Will Donham.
