Fr. Daniel Eakin

Fr. Daniel Bruce Eakin of Little Rock, AR, who was last seen in July 2007, was found in the Ouachita National Forest and identified this week.

He graduated from Hendrix College and became an Elementary School Teacher preferring to teach in underprivileged areas across the state. He then became a Roman Catholic Priest and served several churches including St. Joseph's in Conway, St. Agnes in Mena, All Saints in Mt. Ida, Immaculate Conception of North Little Rock, Holy Souls and Christ the King, both of Little Rock

He was preceded in death by his mother, Christine Binghaman Smith; and his father and stepmother, Fred and Mildred Eakin.

He is survived by five sisters, Brenda Spencer, Diana Daniel, Michele Smith, Nicki Bartlett, Susie Lowman; three brothers, Daniel Raymond Eakin, Tim Eakin and Mark Eakin as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
