Frank J. Pohlkamp, Sr. 85, of Little Rock, passed away March 4, 2021. He was born September 30, 1935 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Frank G. and Marie G. (Baier) Pohlkamp. Frank graduated from Roger Bacon High School Class of 1953, followed by graduation from the University of Cincinnati with a degree in Industrial Engineering, followed by a Master’s in Business Administration from Xavier of Ohio. Frank was a Captain in the U.S. Army Reserve. He had a long business career in manufacturing operations and production management. Frank started his career with Cincinnati Incorporated, moved to Little Rock with Jacuzzi Brothers, then to Shreveport with Tri-State Oil Tool/Baker Hughes and retiring with McElroy Metals as Vice- President of Material Management. He also taught Master’s level business classes at the University of Cincinnati, Little Rock Air Force Base and Centenary College in Shreveport, Louisiana.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Michael Pohlkamp and brother, Bob Pohlkamp. Frank is survived by his wife of 60 years, Phyllis Pohlkamp (Muench); sons, F. Joseph Pohlkamp, Jr. and daughter-in-law, Pamela, daughter-in-law, Michelle Pohlkamp, all of Little Rock and Scott Pohlkamp and daughter-in-law, Allison, of Bay Village, Ohio; grandchildren, Kristin, Katelyn Clark (Daniel), Nicole, Ryan, Alexa and Jackson; sisters, Marilyn Pohlkamp and Dottie Dumczius (Joe), and numerous nieces and nephews.
He enjoyed playing horseshoes, bowling, golf, being outside, working in the yard, boating and spending time at their lake house in Hot Springs with family and friends. Frank will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend who will be missed by all who were privileged to know him
A celebration of Frank’s life will be Saturday, March 13 at 12:30 p.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church, 4000 Rodney Parham Rd., Little Rock 72212.
