Frank Mallory Jordan, 93, died at his home in Conway, AR on April 11, 2022. He was born October 31, 1928, in Danville, VA, the son of Walter Haddon and Violet (Butler) Jordan.
Frank graduated in 1946 from Schoolfield High School in Danville, VA. Following graduation, he served in the Army Air Corp on Iwo Jima at the end of WWII. Returning home, he attended Hampden-Sydney College in VA for two years before being called back to duty to serve in the Philippines during the Korean War. Frank was the recipient of 3 purple hearts during his two tours of duty.
Upon returning from the war, he attended Virginia Polytechnical Institute, graduating in 1954 with a B. S. in Business Administration. After graduation, Frank began a 40-year career in the automobile industry, working for General Motors, Chevrolet, Volkswagen, and finally retiring as the Regional Sales Manager for Subaru of America. Never to be idle, he spent the next 20 years working at Pleasant Hills Senior Living Center in Little Rock, only to fully retire at the age of 87. He was a lifelong Episcopalian and was an active member of St. Peterâs Episcopal Church in Conway AR.
Frank married his college sweetheart, Betty Lou Alden, on August 4, 1956. They celebrated 65 years of marriage together. He is survived by his wife Betty and his two daughters, Anne Jordan Witte (Mark) of Richardson, TX, and Elizabeth Jordan Walters (Chris) of Conway, AR. He was the proud grandfather of 4 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson: Mallory Witte Jackson (Matt) and son Henry L. Jackson of North Little Rock, AR; Lauryn Elizabeth Crockett (Matt) of Little Rock, AR; Mark Henry Witte of Richardson, TX; and Christopher Alden Walters of Conway, AR.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Jordan Davis; and his three brothers: Walter H. Jordan, Jr, Harold B. Jordan, and William B. Jordan.
Frank will be remembered by his family, friends and co-workers as being a humble, southern gentlemen with a kind and gentle soul. Frank knew no strangers and loved everyone he met. He never forgot a name or a face and always greeted everyone with a hug or a hardy handshake. His gentle spirit touched everyone that knew him. His frequent laughter and his wonderful hugs will not soon be forgotten.
A memorial service to honor Frankâs life will be held at St. Peterâs Episcopal Church, 925 Mitchell St., Conway AR 72034 10:00 a.m. Saturday May 7th, 2022. Interment to follow in the Columbarium at the church..
