Frances Vick, 94, of North Little Rock, passed away on May 9, 2015. She was born on March 27, 1921 to the late Fred and Berneice Gray Turner Tedford. Frances graduated from North Little Rock High School in 1940. She was a member of the North Little Rock Central Baptist Church for 74 years, where she worked in the church nursery for over 60 years, and helped in the kitchen for the Wednesday night supper. For over 10 years, she worked as the front door "greeter" at the Friendly Chapel Church of the Nazarene Thrift Store. She was a 70 year member of the Eastern Star. She had a "servant's heart" and enjoyed visiting the shut-ins and bringing them a ray of her wonderful personality. Up until two years ago she was driving her little red truck all about town... to church, the thrift store, grocery store, beauty shop and visiting "shut-ins". She also walked over two miles a day, had "work-out" equipment in her home and used these daily to stay in shape. Most of all she was a great prayer warrior for all of her family, friends and neighbors!
Frances is survived by two sons, Fred Vick of North Little Rock and Curtis Vick (Linda) of Heber Springs; two granddaughters, Courtney Vick of North Little and Cari Karugireyo (David) of Kampala Uganda; three great-granddaughters, Jurnee, Joelee and Jackie, and one great grandchild due in July of Kampala Uganda, Africa; six nieces; one nephew; and a host of loving friends and neighbors. She was blessed to have two wonderful neighbors that she loved very much, Tony and Louise Depietro. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J.L. Vick and her brother, Dr. Charles R. Turner.
The family would like to extend special thanks to her granddaughter, Courtney for all of her loving care and attention.
