Frances Ione Boykin, 80, of Little Rock, passed away on November 30, 2008. She was born June 16, 1928 in Yazoo City, Mississippi to Richard and Velma Holland Cheatham. Frances was head of the English Department at Lafayette High in Louisiana. She received her Bachelors Degree at Mississippi College in Clinton, Mississippi, and her Masters Degree from the University of Southwest Louisiana, now known as the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
She is survived by her husband, Marion Boykin; son, Carl Boykin and wife, Nancy of Roland; daughters, Sandra Boykin of Lafayette, Louisiana and Nancy Boykin and husband, Stuart Warnock of Fort Worth, Texas; brother, R. D. Cheatham and wife, Barbara; and grandchildren, Charley Boykin, Sarah Boykin and Annalee Boykin.
Visitation will be today, Tuesday, from 10:00 a.m. to12:00, at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.), Little Rock, followed by a graveside service at 1:00 p.m. at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander, officiated by Pastor David Bruns.
