Frances Ann Barre’ passed peacefully surrounded by her family on March 13th, 2024.
She is preceded in death by her parents Jane and Moody Moore, her brother Rev. David M. Moore (Melissa), and husband of 38 years, Henry P. Barre, all of Little Rock.
She is survived by her twin daughters Clare Lauer (Brent), and Lara Garmon (Trey), and her best friend of over 50 years, Theresa Anderson of Dewitt. She is survived by her five beloved grandchildren, Caroline and Ellen Lauer, and Abigail, William, and Andrew Garmon all of Little Rock.
Ann attended Hall High School and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Henderson State University, where she was president of Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority. She then earned a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Peabody College, now Vanderbilt University, in Nashville, Tennessee. She built an outstanding career lovingly educating students for over 30 years and was chosen to begin the kindergarten program at Our Lady of the Holy Souls Catholic School as well as the Pre-kindergarten programs at both Woodruff and Chicot Elementary Schools.
The family will receive visitors on Sunday, March 17, 2024, from 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm at Smith Little Rock Funeral Home. Mass of Christian burial will be at Our Lady of the Holy Souls Catholic Church on Monday, March 18th, at 10:00 am with internment to follow at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery.
