Frances Baker

Carolyn Baker, 82, of Sherwood, passed away peacefully, after a lengthy illness on Saturday, October 23, 2010. She was born to the late Louis and Mattie Farr Allen in Hot Springs, Arkansas on September 15, 1928. She was a graduate of Hot Springs High School. She was a loyal and active member of First United Methodist Church of North Little Rock and the Morton Wayland Circle of United Methodist Women for many years. She was a very devoted wife, mother and grandmother. One of her greatest joys was being Nana to her grandchildren.
She is survived by her son, Doug Baker and wife June of Austin, Texas; daughter, Dana Pennington of Sherwood; grandchildren, Tristin Pennington Lumsden (Todd), Krista Baker Duffy (Brian), Sari Baker, Jill Pennington Stern (Michael), Neil Pennington (Crystal); 12 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Mary Anne Baker of North Little Rock; very special nieces, nephews and many dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, John D. Baker; brother, Wayne Allen; and son-in-law, Royce Pennington.
The family wishes to express a special thanks to the staff of Sherwood Nursing Home for the loving care shown to their mother for ten years.
Memorials may be made to North Little Rock First United Methodist Church, 6701 John F. Kennedy Blvd., North Little Rock, AR 72116.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Ozan Cemetery, Nashville, Arkansas at 2:30 p.m. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home, 1921 Main, 758-1170.
