Floyd Terrell Weeks, 80, of North Little Rock, went to Glory on Sunday, July 8, 2007. He passed away at St. Vincent?s Hospital in North Little Rock surrounded by his family and friends. Floyd and his twin brother Lloyd were born to Buck and Margie Weeks on August 4, 1926 in Olmsted, Arkansas. He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters Minnie Sue Smith and Velma Matthews, his brothers Casselle and Billy G., and his twin brother Lloyd.
He is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 61 years, Edna Hogan Weeks; his son Ron Weeks and wife Carla of North Little Rock; his grandchildren Tory Weeks of San Francisco, Tanner Weeks and wife Paulina of North Little Rock, and Carlee Brown of North Little Rock; his great-granddaughters Diana and Sophia. He is also survived by his sister Doris and her husband W.J. Waymack and his sisters-in-law Mary Weeks and Evelyn Weeks.
Floyd has been an active member of Gardner Memorial United Methodist Church in North Little Rock for 50 plus years. Floyd was a past master of Mt. Sianai Lodge #749 and a 32nd degree Mason. He was a Boy Scout leader for over 25 years earning ?The Silver Beaver Award? for distinguished service to boyhood. He believed strongly in volunteerism and served others in many walks of life, most recently at the Hays Senior Center in North Little Rock. He retired from Arkansas Power and Light and went on to enjoy the last 20 years of his life traveling, hunting, fishing, golfing and making wonderful memories with his family and friends. He will be missed by many, but by none more than by those who called him ?Papa.?
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gardner Memorial United Methodist Church, 1723 Schaer, North Little Rock, Arkansas 72114.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 P.M., on Wednesday at Gardner Memorial United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Tuesday at North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main St., 758-1170. Online obituary and guest register at www.northlittlerockfuneralhome.com.
