Floyd W. Thomas age 71 of Arkadelphia died Saturday, May 9, 2009. He was born December 23, 1937 in Clark County the son of William Henry and Myrtle Smothers Thomas. He retired from Southwest Arkansas Equipment in December 1999 where he was a proud John Deere employee for 34 years. He was a member of the Arkansas Air National Guard Radio Relay Unit of Hot Springs and a Baptist. Floyd was preceded in death by a son Kenneth Thomas, a brother, Charles W. Thomas, and a sister, Dorothy Schafer.
Survivors include his wife Mary Sue Helms Thomas, one son, Steven Thomas of Arkadelphia, one granddaughter Annalee LaBarber of Hot Springs, and one sister, Betty Harrington of Little Rock.
Funeral services will be 10 A.M. Tuesday in the Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Chapel with burial in the Richland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 P.M. Monday at the funeral home.
