Floyd Norwood

Floyd W. Norwood, 83, was born January 6, 1933 in Springfield, Arkansas to the late Thomas Walter Norwood and Drucilla Mallett Norwood. He passed away Thursday, December 22, 2016.
Floyd retired from the North Little Rock Police Department after 20 years with the rank of Captain. Then he retired from the UAMS Police Department after 25 years with the rank of Chief. He spent his remaining years on his farm in Sheridan enjoying the quiet life.
He leaves behind his wife and best friend, Patricia M. Norwood of Sheridan; his three children, Brian Norwood of Conway, Bart Norwood (Cindy) of Malvern and Karel Norwood Ortega (Ralph) of Maumelle; five grandchildren, Amy Reynolds and Trey Norwood both of Sherwood, Michelle Norwood Little of Louisiana, Jarrett and Victoria Ortega of Maumelle; one great-grandson, Cullen Reynolds of Sherwood.
Floyd was preceded in death by his three sisters, Juanita Crutchfield of Jacksonville, Geneva Marks of North Little Rock and Willie Coleburn of North Little Rock.
Memorials may be made to his granddaughter's school, Maumelle High School, Girls Track Team, 100 Victory Lane, Maumelle, Arkansas, 72113.
A Visitation will be held 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Thursday, December 29, 2016, at North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main Street. A private burial will be held at a later date.
