Floyd Duke

Floyd E. Duke, 92, of Jacksonville passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2011. He was born October 18, 1918, in the Oak Grove Community to Howard and Jennie Gunnell Duke. He was a member of Park Hill Baptist Church for 56 years and taught the ten-year-old boys' Sunday School Class for 30 years. Mr. Duke was the owner of Duke Appliance Sales and service for 35 years. He was an avid gardener and bird hunter.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Winnie Rice Duke; brothers, Bob Duke and Rex Duke, both of Cabot, Guy Duke of Ward and Clyde Duke of Austin; sister, Murl McCorkle; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sons; brother, Fred Duke; and sister, Elizabeth Plumber.
Memorials may be made to Oak Grove Cemetery, 160 McCollum Road, Cabot, Arkansas 72023
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday in the North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main, 758-1170. Online obituary and guest registry at www.nlrfh.com.
