Florene Short

Florene Carroll Short, 85, of El Paso, Arkansas went to be with her Heavenly father October 25, 2018. She was born January 24, 1933 in Enola to the late Lonnie and Viola Goodnight Carroll. Florene married Lenard Douglas Short in 1951.

She loved music, and even recorded a gospel record with her sister. She enjoyed traveling to different churches and singing. She always had a big garden, made delicious dinners and enjoyed entertaining friends and family. Her greatest accomplishment was her three daughters.

She is preceded in death by her husband Doug, a daughter Barbara Ann Short Smith, her sister Eva Carroll Heslep, and her brother, Leo Carroll.

Florene is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Dent (Mike) and Glenda Hankins (Stephen); grandchildren Angela Stuart (Eric), Sheila Johnson (L.J.), Doug Smith (Amy), Heather Spradlin (Robert), Andrew, Edward and Michael Cook and Gracie Hankins; great grandchildren Logen and McKenzie Caldwell, Sydney and Hayden Clubb, Makera Johnson, Jacie and Jackson Lindsey, Logan Spradlin, and Johnathan Anderson; and four great great grandchildren; one sister, Betty Howard (Dennis) of Shell Knob, Missouri; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday at Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe. Funeral will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 29, 2018 at Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home, with burial in Grissard Cemetery. Arrangements by Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe. www.smithfamilycares.com
